The Head Chef At The Crown - Nick Kimber

The Crown's talented head chef, Nick Kimber, first exprerienced professional cooking whilst filling in for an absent chef when he was aged just 13 and this created a passion within him to become a professional chef. During the 12 years that followed Nick trained in a number of the UK's top restaurants under some of the country's most celebrated chefs in mostly Michelin star and AA rosette kitchens.

Nick spent the majority of his training at the 5 star Duke of Westminster's Chester Grosvenor Hotel under the direction of executive chef Simon Radley, firstly as a chef de partie and after some time away he later returned as a sous chef in the Michelin star kitchen where he helped to retain the star for the 19th year and win a 4th AA rosette.

Nick also spent 6 years in Southern Spain where he worked for one year as a sous chef at the renowned Mijas Playa Restaurant and 5 years as head chef at the Rendezvous Restaurant in Malaga and rapidly gained a reputation for excellence with his style of quality, classically cooked food with a twist.

Nick's passion for food, his art of great cooking and pride in developing dishes based around seasonal, locally sourced produce is shown in his creative menu at the Crown that offers the best seasonal dishes with a balance of classic pub favourites and exciting new recipes.
